Happy days in Brixton. Think I’m finally on the mend after a week of weird sickness.
I’ve spent the day sorting through a friend’s wedding pics and generally enjoying the simple things in life. Reading in the sunshine, Skyping my sis, listening to the Shins’ new album and getting a bit overexcited by the first serious storm I’ve seen in London. Hail, thunder and lightning! It doesn’t usually get more dramatic than a heavy drizzle here so a good storm was just what I needed.
And found this quote, which I think is quite beautiful.
“We are living in a storm where a hundred contradictory elements collide; debris from the past, scraps of the present, seeds of the future, swirling, combining, separating under the imperious winds of destiny.” - Adolphe Rette, 1898
Now off for Viet for dinner with friends in Shoreditch. Will it be a good weekend? Pho sure :)
“A polka-dot has the form of the sun, which is a symbol of the energy of the whole world and our living life. Round, soft, colorful, senseless and unknowing. Polka-dots become movement… Polka dots are a way to infinity.” -Yayoi Kusama

Just booked an impulsive trip to Portugal! Think a week by the ocean is just what I need.

Spring: Time to stop and smell the roses!
Confession: I’ve been thinking about doing things for too long without actually doing them. I’m going to exercise more, I’m going to learn a language, yada yada yada. I feel like life’s getting a bit stagnant. The official start of Spring, or the Equinox, seems a perfect time to turn over a new leaf and shake things up a bit. If the earth can change seasons…
So, in honour of spring, and injecting some more light into my life, here are some things I’m going to do in the next six months:
1. Go and live in another city for at least a month
2. Learn a language in that city
3. Start some travel writing and get something published
4. Spend a day each week working on creative projects
Who knows what the rest of 2012 will hold, but at least putting some plans down in writing will force me to get the ball rolling…
Spring time in London is beautiful
A bit of Brixton love. Blessed with incredible blue skies this weekend! Unfortunately, I had to work both days so didn’t get to soak up quite as much sunshine as I would’ve liked. But still, this in February! I’m not complaining.
